The winery is situated in the heart of the Wagram wine-growing region in Fels am Wagram.. The Wagram offers excellent conditions for viticulture, with its loess slopes. Weingut Leth’s main grape varieties are Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, and it is their aim to vinify a first-class and high-quality wine in the most natural way possible. Countless national and international awards and prestigious ratings are proof that they are on the right track.
The Wagram-region was created by prevailing glacial winds that blew fine particles of agglomerated clay, sand and lime – loess – on to the prehistoric bedrock of the Danube. These loess layers are up to 20 metres in depth. This soil structure enables the roots of the vines to delve down deep and absorb water and nutrients mineral-rich subsoils. Irrigation and mineral fertilisers are therefore not necessary. These factors, coupled with the influence of the Pannonian climate and diurnal temperature variation between day and night, create the perfect conditions for unique terroir wines.
