Tillamook Sharp Cheddar’s Taste
Oregon’s answer to the East Coast’s blocks of Cabot that can be found in every supermarket. My cousins from Portland fondly recall always having a 2 lb block of Tillamook in the fridge – it’s an ubiquitous West Coast favorite. We get it in big loaves and cut to order. Creamy, slightly sharp, and bright orange, looking like a Kraft Single but way, way better. Perfect melting cheese! Not to be confused with the world’s preeminent dog artist, who is also called Tillamook Cheddar. ( http://www.tillamookcheddar.com )
Sliced and layered on crackers or with fresh fruit this cheese stands out. Melts extremely well as the perfect binder in a grilled cheese with apples and onion jam or mac and cheese.
